About this lamp
The Arco was born of a practical problem: light above the dining table without a hole in the ceiling. The Castiglionis let a stainless steel arc reach more than two metres from a heavy block of marble.
The marble has a beautiful, natural patina. The arc is adjustable in height in three positions and the perforated shade is free of dents.

The designer
Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni
The Milanese Castiglioni brothers designed with an engineer’s eye and a great deal of wit. Their lamps for Flos, including the 1962 Arco, show how a single clever technical idea can become an icon.
